A whole meal made up of nothing but pie! You get a chicken pot pie, a cheese and onion pie, and the fruit pie of your choice. The chicken pot pie is deep dish, top crust only; the recipe for the cheese and onion pie comes from the land of my ancestors (copied by hand out of a cookbook that I found on the island of Aegina); and the fruit pie is up to you and the season, since I can do them all (although I do apple, blackberry, and strawberry rhubarb best of all.) You name the time and place and I deliver three piping hot pies to your table for a dinner that will feed 6 very hungry people. I used to say that if I didn't get tenure I would open a pie shop in town. They are just that good!

I haven't raved about the Meal of Pies yet this year, because I figured my previous raves had sunk in by now. Two years in a row we've gotten four people together to indulge in pie. Both years we walked away satisfied and amazed at Alex's handywork. Her fruit pies are divine, but the real gem of this prize is the Onion and Cheese Pie. I've never had anything like it before. Dinner for 4 at this price? And she delivers!
